Tour description:
The name comes from "cầm thi giang" - river of poems, is a city in Vietnam. The city, regarded as "Western capital", with an estimated population of 1,121,000 as of 2004, is the biggest city in the Mekong Delta. The city is located on the south bank of the Hau River, the bigger branch of the Mekong River. It is 169 km from Hochiminh City, Vietnam’s largest city. Cần Thơ’s climate is tropical and monsoonal with two seasons: rainy, from May to November and dry, from December to
April. Average annual humidity is 83%, rainfall 1,635 mm and
temperature 27 °C.
Administratively, Cần Thơ City constitutes an independent municipality at the same level as province of Vietnam.
It was created in the beginning of 2004 by a split of the former Cần
Thơ Province into two new administrative units: Cần Thơ City and Hậu
Giang Province.

2 Day in Can Tho
Day 1
Boarding at Can Tho at the Ninh Kieu
pier, you will be welcomed with a drink and introduced to the ship and
crew, then check into your cabin. The boat then heads down the Hau
River, with lunch on board while en route. The tour continues to Tra On
floating market. The boat then branches into Mang Thit River towards Co
Chien River. Rest on the upper deck or enjoy the open bar while you
meander through scenery of rice fields, sugar cane and woods on the
river banks.
We then visit a village on the banks of River
Mang Thit, which is an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and
hospitality of the local inhabitants. You then take in a visit to the
orchard or rice fields nearby. You will be welcomed back on board with
a drink, and will be able to take in the sunset. The crew will serve
dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit River towards her
anchorage point for the night - near Tra On.
Day 2
Breakfast
is available from 06:30, while the ship is cruising through the Tra On
floating market. The ship will then depart towards Can Tho. Arriving at
the Cai Rang floating market, you will check out and transfer onto a
local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens
- then returning to the Ninh Kieu Pier. You will arrive at Ninh Kieu
pier in Can Tho around late morning.
